Strone

Strone is a modernised holiday cottage ideal for visiting anglers situated beside Strone Falls, on the banks of Beat 2 of the River Alness. Although the house enjoys a remote situation and convenience for fishing the river, it is just 15 minutes drive to the town of Alness and the village of Evanton, which offer shops, pubs, restaurants and other services. The setting is stunning, and the house has a very attractive garden with a small patio area at the front of the house.

Strone sleeps 4 comfortably, in 2 x twin bedrooms (though there is also a sofa-bed in the lounge), and has 2 bathrooms, one en-suite. Downstairs, there is a kitchen, dining room, utility room and WC, and a large enclosed veranda - an ideal place for dogs to sleep and for storing rods and other tackle. Upstairs are the bedrooms and bathrooms, and the lounge which overlooks the river through large sliding glass doors, which also provide access to a small balcony.

Strone was renovated in 2006 and improvements included a new kitchen, new bathroom, all new appliances (hob/oven, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and chest freezer), new floor coverings, new storage heaters and re-decoration thoughout most of the house.

All bed linen and towels are provided and we stock the house with household essentials and a ‘welcome pack’ for your arrival. Pricing includes firewood and electricity.

Strone is available in the spring, early summer and autumn for lets with or without fishing and from July to October packaged with salmon fishing on the River Alness.

2010 Pricing

Weekly rates for self-catered lets in 2010 at Strone (exclusive of fishing) are:

Low Season (weeks commencing April 3rd to April 24th inclusive) - £425

Mid Season (May 1st  to June 26th inclusive and November 31st to November 27th) - £500

High Season (July 4th to October 24th inclusive) - £600

2010 Availability

Strone is generally let by the week but in low and mid-season we are pleased to consider shorter lets. Weekly lets of Strone are from Saturday to Saturday from April to June, and also in November. From July to October inclusive, lets are from Sunday to Sunday to fit with salmon fishing lets during the prime season.
